WATERLOO -- Bob Steely, 87, of Scottsdale, Ariz., formerly of Waterloo, died Friday, Sept. 20, 2013, at Hospice of the Valley Eckstein Center, Scottsdale.

He was born Aug. 9, 1926, in Waterloo, son of William "Bill" and Marion "Pat" Steely. He married Nancy E Adams. Following graduation, Mr. Steely served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survived by his wife; a son, Bill (Lynn) of Houlton, Wis., four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Jim.

Private graveside services will be held at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Bloomington, Minn.

Memorials may be directed to the Shriner Hospital for Children, Minneapolis.
