WATERLOO Robert C. Bullis, 80, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Jan. 5, 2006, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 27, 1925, in rural Kimball, S.D., son of Sanford E. and Adelia J. Beeler Bullis. He married Marceline B. Bohr on Aug. 16, 1945, in Stickney, S.D.

Mr. Bullis was employed as a truck mechanic and also in refrigeration with Carnation-Swiss Valley Farms, retiring in 1981. He also was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include five sons, Wayne E. (Kathy) of West Des Moines, Robert L. (Chris) of Lakewood, Colo., Cecil R. (Irene) and Paul T. (Bridget), both of Waterloo, and Donald J. (Gail) of Winter Park, Fla.; two daughters, Rosemary (Rick) Amos and Betty (Mike) Murphy, both of Waterloo; 17 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three sisters, Darlene Kunzwiler of Kimball, Doris (Clifford) Cook of Dallas, Ore., and Patricia (Leo) Buckley of Sioux Falls, S.D.; a half-sister, Donna Margaret (Charles LaMonto) Brooks of Naples, Fla.; four stepsisters, Janice Hildebrand of Mitchell, S.D., Geneve Wisner of Sioux Falls, Bernice (Pete) Pederson of Yankton, S.D., and Lucille Bennett of Spanaway, Wash.

Preceded in death by a brother, James B.; a sister, Jean E. Trainer; and two stepbrothers, Floyd F. and Donald Briggs.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with entombment in Mount Olivet Mausoleum, where full military rites will be conducted by Iowa Army National Guard, Waterloo AMVETS Post 19 and Evansdale AMVETS Post 31. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, where there will be a 6 p.m. Knights of Columbus rosary and a 7 p.m. vigil service. Visitation also for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to Alzheimers Association East Central Iowa.
