Jeffrey R. Condit, 46, of Independence, died Friday, June 25, 2004, in Independence.

He was born Nov. 16, 1957, in Waterloo, son of Robert Burdette and Barbara Jean Bertie Condit. On Jan. 20, 2001, he married Shaunna Lynn Reed in Independence.

Mr. Condit graduated from the Waterloo East High School in 1976, then served in the U.S. Navy At the time of his death he was a deputy sheriff in Black Hawk County

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Sarah (Todd) King of Misawa, Japan, and Amy (Jason) Becker of
Roanoke, Va.; four stepdaughters, Alicia, Molly, Amy and Emily Wilson, all at home; two grandchildren; his parents, Carol and Robert Condit, and Barbara and Pat Lynch, all of Waterloo; and a sister, Jodi (Rod) Shirley of Houston.

Preceded in death by a sister, Julie Condit; and Ms grandparents, Inez and Robert Condit and Bernice and George Beetle.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at Immanuel Lutheran Church with burial in Mount Hope Cemetery, both in Independence. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at White Funeral Home, Independence.

A memorial fund has been established.
