WATERLOO - Virginia "Ginny" B. Hackwell, 57, of 835 Olympic Drive, died Monday, June 16, 1997, at Covenant Medical Center, from injuries suffered when struck by a car at her home.
She was born June 24, 1939, in Waterloo, daughter of Percy George and Evelyn Skalsky Leaman. She married Dale E. Hackwell on Aug. 11, 1960, in Waterloo. Mrs. Hackwell worked as a demonstrator at Econofoods for many years and currently worked there as a customer greeter.
Survived by her husband; three daughters, Kimberly A. Hoppock of Bartlesville, Okla., Cheri L. Swenson of Cedar Rapids and Pamela S. McGuigan of Waterloo; a son, Dale E. Jr. of Washburn; nine grandchildren; her parents of Waterloo; and a brother, Walter P. Leaman of Cedar Falls.
Preceded in death by an infant brother, Percy "Butch" E. Leaman.
Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at First Wesleyan Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home, with family present from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Visitation also from 9 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home and for an hour before services at the church.
