WATERLOO - Calvin R. Lamb, 76, of Waterloo, died Thursday, Aug. 23, 2007, at the Cedar Valley Hospice Home of cancer.

He was born Feb. 28, 1931, in Waterloo, son of Myron and Ruthe Blanchard Lamb. He married Margaret "JoAnne" Carroll, and they later divorced. He then married Marlys Sprague Moore on April 11, 1975, in Waterloo.

He graduated from West High School in 1949. Mr. Lamb was an insurance salesman for Prudential and then Blue Cross/Blue Shield Insurance Co. for many years. He later worked at Kimball Ridge Grocery Store.

Survived by his wife; a son, Dan (Linda) of Janesville; three daughters, Sidney (domestic partner Cheryl Baker) Lamb of Albuquerque, N. M., Kim (Keith) Rizner of Peyton, Colo., and Kathy (Bob) Burkhart of Des Moines; two stepsons, Darwin (Pam) Moore of Oelwein and Marty (Gayle) Moore of Diamond Head, Miss.; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, Ray (Maggie) Hemmer of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by a sister, Kay Hemmer

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday at Trinity American Lutheran Church, with burial in the Garden of Memories Cemetery. Public visitation from 1 to 4 p.m. today at Locke Funeral Home.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
