Services for Rudgar George Shindley, 55, of Clear Lake, formerly of Waterloo, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Patterson and James Funeral Home, Mason City, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Mason City. Mr. Shindley died Friday morning of lung cancer at Oakdale Hospital in Coralville.

He was born May 21, 1925, in Waterloo, son of Rex and Dorothy Bisdorf Shindley.

Survivors include his wife, Betty; four sons, Richard of Jonesboro, Tenn., David of Dighton, Kan., William of Waterloo and Jon of Cedar Falls; one daughter, Mrs. David Simpson of Cedar Falls; one stepson, John Wilkerson, serving in the United States Navy; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Leandra Garten of Clinton; one sister, Betty Sell of La Porte City; his stepmother, Edith Shindley of Waterloo; his grandmother, Ada Smith of Waterloo; and eight grandchildren. .

Friends may call at the funeral home from 9 a.m. until services Tuesday and from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Monday.
