CEDAR FALLS - Viola Kathryn Lauterbach, 93, of Cedar Falls, died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, at the Western Home Communities Martin Center.

She was born Nov. 1, 1914, in Grundy County, daughter of John W. and Mary E. Appel Jans. She married Albert B. Lauterbach on March 20, 1934, at her parents' home in rural Reinbeck. He died Jan. 20, 1985.

Mrs. Lauterbach and her husband farmed in the Cedar Falls and Dike area for many years.

Survivors include a son, Beuford (Ann) of The Woodlands, Texas; two daughters, Ardith (Don) Johnson of Oelwein and Carma (John) Blackburn of Rockford, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Marlys Pogemiller of Charles City; a brother, Kenneth (Nettie) Jans of Evergreen, La.; and a sister in-law, Loretta Jans of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by a son, Darwin; a daughter in-law, Karen Lauterbach; two brothers, Burdette and Vernon Jans; two brothers-in-law, Dwight Pogemiller and Orville Lauterbach; and three sisters-in-law, Juanita Jans, Amelia Lauterbach and Modena Lauterbach.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Dike United Methodist Church, with burial in Elmwood Cemetery, Dike. Public visitation from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Wednesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church or Cedar Valley Hospice.
