WATERLOO - Gertrude J. Spicer, 97, of Waterloo, died Friday, July 7, 2006, at Windsor Nursing & Rehab Center, Cedar Falls.

She was born Aug. 20, 1908, in Gate, Okla., daughter of James and Jessie Vance Vance. She married Ora Spicer on Sept. 5, 1928, in Liberal, Kan. He died in 1990.

Survivors include a daughter, Marcia (Paul) Cunningham of Waterloo; four grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by an infant daughter; two brothers, Cecil and Schauner Vance; and two sisters, Mary Bratton and Sylvia Melcher.

Services: will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Gospel Lighthouse Church, Laverne, Okla., with burial in Laverne Cemetery. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service is in charge of local arrangements.
