WATERLOO - Raymond C. Pexa, 83, of 739 W. Mullan Ave., died at home Saturday, June 18, 2005.

He was born Feb. 11, 1922, in Guernsey, son of Frank and Marie Meinke Pexa. He married Mary Gates on Aug. 26, 1947, in Waterloo. She died in 1966.

Mr. Pexa graduated from Guernsey High School, then graduated from Electrical Training School of the University of Minnesota and from Gates Business College in 1950. He worked in sales promotion for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works, retiring in 1982. He had served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

Survivors include a daughter, Ann (Dave) Johnson of Port Angeles, Wash.; two sons, Mark of Cedar Falls and Jon (Pat) of Waterloo; seven grandchildren; two brothers, Melvin and Marvin (Doris), both of Cedar Rapids; and a sister, Mildred Ormiston of Cedar Rapids.

Preceded in death by a brother, John.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Locke Funeral Home, with inurnment in Elmwood Cemetery. Military rites will be conducted by Cedar Falls AMVETS Post 49. Friends may call for an hour before services Saturday at the funeral home.
