WATERLOO — Dorothy C. Britt, 86, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2013, at NewAldaya Lifescapes.

She was born Feb. 2, 1927, in Dewar, daughter of Edward and Clara Schmitt Donovan. She married Gerald “Jerry” Britt on April 23, 1946, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Waterloo.

Survived by her husband; two sons, Ron (Mary) of Bailey, N.C., and Bill (Betty) of Martins Ferry, Ohio; two grandchildren, Lisa (Corey) Rard and B.J. (Kristin) Britt; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Norma (Bill) McCusker of Cedar Rapids and Marjorie (Don) Richards of Sun City West, Ariz..

Preceded in death by a brother, Roy Donovan.

Services: 11 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, with burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street, with a 4 p.m. rosary and a 6 p.m. vigil. Visitation also an hour before services Monday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church.

Dorothy was a great homemaker and loved to travel and laugh with her family.
