CEDAR FALLS - Edith Alice Simatovich, 86, of Cedar Falls, died June 14, 2005, at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home of natural causes.

She was born July 9, 1918, in Decorah, daughter of Emil and Alice Hallman Frederick. She married Woodrow Grove, and they were later divorced. She married Joseph Simatovich on July 3, 1950, in Faribault, Minn. He died Nov. 10, 1979.

Survivors include: a son, Michael (Caron) Simatovich of Keota; two daughters, Joanne (Santos) Grove Hernandez of Lemoore, Calif., and Kathy (Brian Devine) Simatovich of Cedar Falls; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Jean (Edwin) Bertheau of Ellentown, Fla.

Preceded in death by her husband, Eric Bensing; two brothers, Carroll and Kenneth Frederick; and a granddaughter.

Memorial services: 1 p.m. today at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home, with burial in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from noon until services today at the Cedar Falls Lutheran Home. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, Waterloo, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family or Cedar Valley Hospice.
