Leisa Ann Gill Sanders, 57, of Mound City, Kan., formerly of Reinbeck, died Sunday, May 31, 2009, at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, Iowa City.

She was born April 11, 1952, in Waterloo, daughter of James and Marilyn Karkosh Gill. On Aug. 11, 1974, she married Ron Sanders at United Church of Christ, Reinbeck, and they later divorced.

Ms. Sanders graduated from Reinbeck High School in 1970, attended Parsons College, Fairfield, then transferred to Northwest Missouri State.

Survived by her mother of Waterloo; and a sister, Lani Jo Flesch (Scott) of Libertyville, Ill.

Preceded in death by: her father; and grandparents, James and Minerva Karkosh and Frank and Mayme Gill.

Private family memorial services are being planned. Per her wishes she was cremated. French-Hand Funeral Home, Reinbeck, assisted the family.

Memorials may be directed to the Leukemia Foundation or Iowa chapter of ASPCA.
