WATERLOO — Richard E. Woodbury, 74, of New Albin, formerly of Waterloo, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at his brother’s home in Waterloo.

He was born Aug. 8, 1939, in Sumner, son of Luther and Esther Severeid Woodbury. He married Carol Koschmeder on Oct. 24, 1970, in Waterloo.

Mr. Woodbury graduated from Waterloo West High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He worked as an inspector for Chart Industries, La Crosse, Wis., retiring in 2010.

Survived by his wife of Waterloo; a son, Rex (June) of Council Bluffs; four brothers, Larry (Linda) of Ankeny, John (Marilyn) of Waterloo, Russell (Cindy) of Missouri and Jim (Sheri) of Rochester, Minn.; and a sister, Lila (Loren) Krueger of La Crosse.

Preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Lee Krueger.

Memorial services: 11 a.m. Thursday at Kearns Funeral Service, Kimball Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour before the service. Military rites will be conducted by Becker-Chapman American Legion Post 138, VFW Post 1623 and the Iowa Army National Guard Honors Detail.

Memorials may be directed to the Wildlife Foundation or charity of donor’s choice.
