CEDAR FALLS — Mary M. Fratzke, 83, of rural Cedar Falls, died at home Wednesday, Feb. 18, 1998, of a cornary.

She was born Feb. 18, 1915; in Waterloo, the daughter of Peter and Mary Elizabeth Cuhn Ziegler. She married LaVern Fratzke on Nov. 26,1936, in Waterloo. He died in October 1990.

She attended Gates Business College in Waterloo. Mrs. Fratzke and her husband founded the Cedar Valley Chapter 145 Mended Hearts, and she served as the editor of its newsletter for 12 years.

Survived by a daughter, Joanne Kline of Janesville; three sons, William of Pearl City, Hawaii, Richard of Phoenix and John of Papillion, Neb.; five grandchildren; and a sister, Elizabeth Reed of Cedar Falls.

Preceded in death by her husband; five brothers, John, Peter, Alfred, Bill and Frank Ziegler; and a sister, Josephine Ziegler.

Services: 1:30 p.m. Monday at Ascension Lutheran Church in Waterloo. Interment will be at a later date. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Richardson Funeral Home, and for an hour before services at the church.
