Julius A. Fratzke, 78, of 924 Hammond Ave., died at 11:40 a. m. at Allen Memorial Hospital of a gall bladder ailment.

He was born Mar. 31, 1879, in Buchanan County, the son of August and Wilhelmina Fratzke. He was raised near Littleton.

On Feb. 4, 1930, he married Martha Krueger in Buchanan County. Following their marriage, the couple farmed near Jesup and came to Waterloo in 1919. Mr. Fratzke was a carpenter in Waterloo for 35 years. He retired nine years ago.

Mr. Fratze was a member of Trinity American Lutheran Church and Carpenter's Local 1835.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Clifford, of Independence, Ore., and La Verne, Rt. 3,.Cedar Falls; one daughter, Mrs. David Susong; 924 Hammond Ave.; three sisters, Mrs. Amelia Trebon, of 216 Leonard Ave.; Mrs. Ida Luloff, of St. Charles, Minn., and Mrs. George Knott, of Independence, Ore.; one brother Richard, of Randalia,
Ia.; and seven grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, one son and one daughter.

Services are pending at Parrott & Wood Funeral home.

Funeral services for Julius A. Fratzke, 78,. of, 924 Hammond Ave., are set for 1 p. m. Thursday at Trinity American Lutheran Church. The Rev. G. E. Melchert, pastor of that church, will officiate and burial will be in Jubilee Cemetery.

Mr. Fratzke died Monday at Allen, Memorial Hospital of a gall bladder ailment.

The casket will be taken from Parrott &, Wood Funeral Home to the family home at 2 p. m. Wednesday. It will be taken to the church Thursday noon. .
