Shannon J. Wood, 56, of Waterloo died Thursday November, 9, 2006 at her home.

She was born September 17, 1950 in Waterloo, daughter of Leonard and Marlys Sanford Wood. She graduated from Waterloo West High School and also from the University of Northern Iowa. She was employed as a social worker with Head Start.

Survivors include her father, Leonard of Waterloo; a brother, Steven S. (Sally) Wood of Menomonee Falls, WI; a niece, Tracy Wood of Harrisburg, PA; and a nephew, Adam (Andrea) Wood of Des Moines.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Memorial services will be 1:30 p.m. Saturday December 9, 2006 at Memorial Park Chapel with inurnment in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation for an hour before services on Saturday at the chapel. Hagarty Waychoff Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway is in charge of arrangements.

In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Immanuel Presbyterian Church or Covenant Foundations Horizon Program.
