Roland M. Winkelpleck, 69, of 121 E. Ninth St., died Saturday morning, Dec. 29, 1990, at Allen Memorial Hospital after a lengthy illness.

He was born Dec. 23, 1921, in Indian Springs, Ind., son of Roy and Ethel Brock Winkelpleck. He married Dorothy L. White June 6, 1964, in Preston, Minn. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II from 1940-1945.

Mr. Winkelpleck worked for R.G. Oil as a maintenance electrician.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Mary Jane Baker of Muscatine; his mother of Vinton; a stepdaughter, Nicole Russell of San Diego, Calif.; three brothers, Roger M. and Gail F., both of.Dysart, and John R. of Grundy Center; and three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at St. Joseph Catholic Church with burial in Dysart Cemetery. Graveside military rites will be performed by the Dysart American Legion Post 335. Friends may call at The Keams, Huisman-Schumacher Chapel on Kimball from 3 to 8 p.m. today. A Scripture service will be 7 p.m. today at the funeral chapel.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
