Pauline D. Schwartz, 82, of 1009 3rd St., Reinbeck, died Friday, Dec. 28, 1990, at Allen Memorial Hospital of complications due to advanced age.

She was born Dec. 25, 1908, in Jacksonville, Ill., daughter of John T. and Elizabeth Sooy Johnson. She married Edward Paul Schwartz on Jan. 17, 1929, in Waterloo.

Mrs. Schwartz was a homemaker and a member of the St. Mark's Women's Society.

She is survived by her husband; a son, Paul R. Schwartz of Waterloo; three daughters, Kathryn L. Barfels of Laramie, Wyo., Dorothy Tupy of Suffield, Ohio, and Linda Hazlet of Reinbeck; 10 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and five brothers, Randall Johnson, of St. Paul, Minn., Oren Johnson, of Shell Rock; Virgil Johnson, of Waverly and Kenneth Johnson and Gilbert Johnson, both of Cedar Falls; and two sisters, Eva Mae Closson of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Esther Christiansen, of Santa Rosa, Calif.

She is preceded in death by four brothers, Fred, Ercil, Adrian and Charles Johnson, and a sister, Clara Wyatt.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at St. Mark's Methodist Church in Evansdale, with burial at Garden of Memories Cemetery, [Waterloo]. Friends may call from 2 to 5 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Funeral Home in Waterloo.
