WATERLOO - Earl Clyde Drew, 84, of Waterloo, died Sunday, Feb. 5, at Allen Hospital emergency room following a sudden illness.

He was born Sept. 13, 1921, in Janesville, son of Clyde H. and Adele Gielau Drew. He married Marva Smith on Oct. 12, 1947. She died in January 1995.

Mr. Drew graduated from Janesville High School in 1938 and served in the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II. He worked at Rath Packing Co. for 29 years, retiring in 1983.

Survivors include two sons, Earl "Skip" C. II and Daryl D. (Amy), both of Cedar Falls; two daughters, Linda (Stan) Drew of Osborn, Mo., and Carolyn Drew of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Jerde and Phyllis Burske.

Services: 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ascension Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. today at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service. The casket will be closed at the church. Military rites will be conducted by Evansdale AMVETS Post 31 and Waterloo AMVETS Post 19.
