MARK ELLSWORTH IS KILLED IN VIETNAM

Funeral arrangements are pending at Chapel of Memories West for Spec. 4 Mark Ellsworth, 21, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Ellsworth of 905 W. 6th St.

He was killed in a fire fight near Tam Ky, Vietnam, at 1 p.m. Wednesday, the 13th Waterloo resident to die there and the third this year.

Mark Ellswoth was born in Waterloo Jan. 22, 1947, to Lloyd and Marjorie Slaughter Ellsworth. Following his graduation from West High School in 1965, he attended Iowa State University at Ames. He had been in the Army since April, 1967, and in Vietnam since last December. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church.

Survivors, in addition to his parents, are two sisters: Mrs. Jack Barzee of Muskegon, Mich., wife of a former member of the Black Hawks hockey team, and Amy, at home; a brother, James Ellsworth of La Porte City; paternal grandmother, Mrs. Laura Ellsworth of Denver, Colo.; and maternal grandmorther, Mrs. Mable Slaughter, who resides at the Ellsworth home.
