John Preston Hall, 84, Waterloo resident for 37 years, died of infirmities incident to advanced age at 6:45 p.m. Monday in Detention Hospital wehre he had been a patient since Dec 6, 1943.

Born June 12, 1860, in Louisville, Ky. He married Miss Emma Corwin in May, 1887, in Cedar Falls, and resided in New Hartford before coming to Waterloo in 1907. Here he engaged in the well drilling business, retiring 11 years ago. Mr. Hall was a member of Grace Methodist Church.

Surviving are two sons, Earl P., Des Moines, and Thomas C., fomerly of Waterloo, more recently of Burlington, Ia. Also surviving are a brother, Will, and a sister, Mrs. Mary Hall, both of Nampa, Ida., and one grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his wife in September, 1917.

The body is at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home.

Funeral services for John Preston Hall, Waterloo resident for 37 years, who died Monday in Isolation Hospital, will be conducted at 2 p. m. Thursday at O'Keefe & Towne Funeral Home with Rev. Floyd Jepperson, of 526 Kirkwood Avenue, officiating. The body will be taken to New Hartford, la., following funeral services, for burial.
