Mrs. Marie Mead, 73, of 1013 Wellington Street, died Monday at 7 p. m. in her home of complications incident to advanced age.

She was born Marie Hanson in Denmark Mar. 20. 1871, and came to America in 1887, settled in Waterloo and had lived here since.

In 1922 she was married to John Mead in Albert Lea, Minn., and they returned to Waterloo, where her husband was engaged in blacksmithing. He was employed by Illinois Central railroad before retiring several years ago.

Mrs Mead was a member of American Lutheran church.

Surviving are her husband and one nephew, Nels Peterson, Owen,
Wis.

The body is at Kearns Garden Chapel.
