WATERLOO — Werner W. G. Jacobi, 85, of Waterloo, died Tuesday, Aug. 20, 2013, at Allen Hospital of lymphoma.

He was born Jan. 10, 1928, in Alverdissen, Lippe-Detmold, Germany, son of Karl and Mathilde Eikerman Jacobi. He married Dagmar Schmitz on April 17, 1954, in Bielefeld, Westfalen, Germany. She died April 13, 2000.

Mr. Jacobi worked for Young Plumbing & Heating for 25 years, retiring in 1996. He was a member of the Former German-American Club.

Survived by two sons, Michael (Tracy) of West Jordan, Utah, and Peter (Marsha) of Phoenix; two daughters, Diana (Harald) Boeck and Lori Jacobi, both of Waterloo; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Karl Heinz and Lienhart Jacobi, both of Germany; and a sister, Hildegard Priefer of Germany.

Preceded in death by his parents; and three brothers, Willie, Ervin and Lothar Jacobi.

Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 3006 Pleasant Drive, Cedar Falls, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Poyner Township Cemetery, Waterloo. Kearns Funeral Service, Kimball Avenue, is in charge of arrangements.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Werner loved bowling, gardening, playing cards, baking German bread and drinking Dr. Pepper.
