Mrs. John R. Culbertson, 86, died at 1:40 a. m. Monday at the home of her son, H Vern Culbertson, 422 Baltimore Street. She had been ill of heart disease since
the first of the year.

Cornelia Herrick was born March 20, 1851, at Albany. N. Y., the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Stephen Herrick. She was married to John R. Culbertson. on March 31, 1874, at Blue Grass, la. Mrs. Culbertson lived for many yearsat Fairfield, la. Her husband died there Feb. 12, 1912. Mrs. Culbertson came to Waterloo, eight years ago to make her home with the son.

Surviving are two sons, Vern, and Harry B. Culbertson, Fairfield; two daughters, Mrs. Gertrude Steinroetz, Santa Fe, N. M., and Miss Blanche Culbertson, Oskaloosa, la.; a stepson, E. D. Y. Culbertson, Topeka, Kan.; 15 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was a member of the Methodist Episcopal church at Fairfield.

Funeral services will be conducted at 3:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Kistner chapel by Rev. Albert L. Drake, pastor of First Baptist Church. Further services and burial will be at Letts, la.
