Services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Kearns-Dykeman Chapel for Carl N. Hastings, 68, of 1304 W. Third St. He died at 4:20 a.m. Saturday at Roberts Waterloo Care Center.

Friends may call at the funeral home from noon to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. There will be no visitation Monday. Those who wish may contribute to tlje First Baptist Church Memorial Fund or the Kidney Foundation.

Mr. Hastings was born Sept. 17, 1910. in Horton, son of Harry and Olga Anderson
Hastings. He married Ethel Pierce Jan. 1, 1935, in Waverly.

Mr. Hastings was employed as a watchman for John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 30 years, retiring in 1971.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Vernon of Oakdale, Minn., and Dick of 1256 Black Hawk Road; two brothers, John of Cedar Rapids, and Claude of Jesup; four sisters: Mrs. Edith Johnston of Plainfield, Mrs. Helen Larson of Allison, Mrs. Ruby Rogers of Llano, Texas, and Mrs. Florence Ballou of Cedar Rapids; and two grandchildren.
