Jerry Lee Briggle, 72, of 1622 Waterloo Road, Cedar Falls, died at 8:30 a.m. Sunday at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church of a heart attack during the church services.

Mr. Briggle was employed at the Rath Packing Co. for 25 years, retiring in 1959.

He was born on Nov. 11, 1891, in Perry, the son of Jeremiah and Mary Briggle. He married Emma Shepherd in Galena, Ill., on March 22, 1934. Following their marriage they resided in Waterloo.

Mr. Briggle was a veteran of World War I; a member of St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church and of the Disabled American Veterans.

Surviving are his widow; two stepsons, Thomas Shepherd of 917 Lorraine St.; Maj. Robert E. Shepherd of Albuquerque; one daughter, Mrs. Luke Chval of Panama City, Fla.; two sisters, Mrs. Elsie Pringle of Mt. Vernon; Mrs. Fred Trough of Craig, Colo.; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church. The Rev. Arnold Tiemeyer, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery. American Legion Post No. 138 will conduct military rites at the gravesite. Friends may call at the Parrott & Wood Funeral Home until 11:30 a.m. Tuesday; and at the St. Ansgar's Lutheran Church from noon until service time. The casket will not be opened following services
