Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. John's Catholic Church for John Federspiel, 75 of 609 Elm St. The Rev. Clarence Ferring, pastor, will officiate. Friends may call at the Oppold Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Saturday, where there will be a Rosary by the St. Vincent DePaul Society at 8 p.m. Saturday. Mr. Federspiel died at 2 p.m. Thursday at St. Francis Hospital of a coronary occlusion. He had been a patient at the hospital for two weeks.

He was born Jan. 13, 1893, the son of Peter and Mary Nie Federspiel, near Raymond. He married Rebecca Ann Kretzmeyer on Oct. 17, 1922 at St. Mary's Church in Waverly. He was a veteran of World War I and served with the army in France. He worked as a machinist for the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works for 32 years, retiring in 1957. He was a member of St. John's Catholic Church, of the Holy Name Society, the Catholic Order of Foresters, of which he was past financial secretary, also of the St. Vincent DePaul Society; and a past board member of St. John's Credit Union. He was also a member of the Disable American Veterans.

Surviving are his widow, one daughter, Mrs. Glenn Bovey Jr. of Anchorage, Alaska; one son, John Federspiel of Columbus, Ohio; six grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence, 814 South St.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one infant son and two sisters.
