Services for William D. Suiter, 70, of 4145 North Ave., will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Garden View Chapel, 3655 Logan Ave., with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery where military rites will be conducted by Becker Chapman American Legion 138 and Veterans of Foreign War Post 1623. He died Saturday (Sept. 6, 1986) at Mesa Lutheran Hospital, Mesa, Ariz.

He was born April 14, 1916, in Boynton, Okla., son of William and Nancy McCord Suiter.

He was a machinist at Deere & Co. for 42 years, retiring in 1981. He was a veteran of the Army, serving during World War II in Europe from March 31, 1944 to Nov. 29, 1945.

Survivors include a son, David of 4145 North Ave.; a daughter, Mrs. Nancy Klein of Tempe, Ariz.; two brothers, Robert of 406 Wilshire Ave., and Edgar "Pete" of 2123 CrescentDrive, Cedar Falls; three sisters: Mrs. Cora Podhaski of 1920 Pinehurst Lane, Mrs. Jennie Griffith, of 3112 Boulder Drive, Cedar Falls, and Mrs. Betty Rohle of 227 Derbyshire Road; three grandchildren; and a great-grandson.

He was preceded by a brother, Richard, and two sisters, Bernice George and Mamie Suiter.

Friends may call at the chapel from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until services Tuesday.
Memorials may be made to University Hospitals, Iowa City.
