Victor Schaefer, 68, of near Gilbertville, died at his home at 12:30 a.m. Friday of a heart attack.

He was born on Sept. 26, 1899, the son of Charles and Mary Bauler Schaefer near Gilbertville. He married Stella Schares on April 20, 1927 at Gilbertville. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception church, Gilbertville, and the Holy Name Society.

Surviving are his widow, three daughters, Mrs. Patrick Rouke of Fairbank; Mrs. Paul Robb of Raymond; Mrs. Harold Schares of Gilbertville; two sons, Thomas of Rt. 4 and Roman at home; eight grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Agnes Free, 408 Baltimore St.; and one brother, Frank Schaefer,
Washburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church at Gilbertville. The Rev. Kenneth Ryan, pastor, will officiate. Friends may call at the Oppold Funeral Home after 1 p.m. Saturday. Rosary services will be conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday.
