CARROLL WATERS OF CEDAR FALLS TAKEN BY DEATH

CEDAR FALLS, IOWA - Carroll T. Waters, 3101 Rainbow Drive, died Sunday afternoon at Sartori Memorial Hospital of a stroke he suffered last Tuesday.

He was born Nov. 5, 1890 at Orchard, Iowa, and married Mabel Blandin there.

The couple homesteaded in Montana until 1918, and the following year returned to Orchard, where Mr. Waters became railroad section foreman.

They moved to Parkersburg about 1933 and Mrs. Waters died in March 1936. Mr. Waters married Mrs. Mabel Benedict July 3, 1936. The couple lived at Parkersburg until 1941 when they moved to Lyle, Minnesota.

Mr. Waters retired from railroading and the couple moved to Cedar Falls in 1946. Mr. Waters has been employed at the John Deere Tractor Co. in Waterloo since.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Vinton, Parkersburg; one daughter, Mrs. William Mahanke, Watertown, S. D.; one stepson, Howard Benedict, Cedar Falls; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Vernal Benton, Forest City; two grandchildren and four step-grandchildren.

Preceding him besides his first wife were one daughter and one brother.

Funeral services will be 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at the First Church of Christ in Cedar Falls and at 1:30 at the Engelkes Funeral Home at Parkersburg. Burial will be in Orchard.
