LA PORTE CITY — Evelyn E. Clark, 84, of La Porte City, died Thursday, Oct. 1, 1998, at Allen Memorial Hospital, Waterloo, of heart failure.

She was born Jan. l5, 1914, in La Porte City, daughter of Edgar and Bess McQuilkin Unger. She married Harold F. Clark Feb. 21, 1933, in Galena, Ill. He died April 28, 1973.

She and her husband farmed in the La Porte City area for several years, and they also owned Clark Chevrolet Co.

Survived by two sons, Robert H. and James, both of La Porte City; three* daughters, Charlotte Craft of Gratiot, Wis., Patricia Hill of Dysart; 16 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by her husband; infant twin brothers, and a son, William, who died in 1993.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Monday, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, with burial in West View Cemetery, both in La Porte City; friends may call from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Huisman Funeral Home, La Porte City, and an hour before services at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the church; La Porte City Community Center, or La Porte City Ambulance & Fire Department.
