WATERLOO —Ferne Lucille Meier, 90, of Ravenwood Health Care Center, died there Sunday, Dec. 1, 1996, of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 28, 1906, in Emerson, daughter of William A. and Dessa Babitt Cole. She married Harry Meier on July 12,1926, in Emerson; he died July 14, 1987.

Mrs. Meier worked as a secretary at the Black Hawk County Assessor's office, retiring in 1971.

Survived by a sister, Maxine Prather of Springdale, Ark.

Preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Cole.

Graveside services wili follow cremation at a later date, with inurnment in Garden of Memories. There will be no visitation. Locke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
