WATERLOO — Wilford J. "Bill" Edwards, 82, of Waterloo, died Friday, Nov. 29, 1996, at Allen Memorial Hospital of natural causes.

He was bom Jan. 7, 1914, in Gladbrook, son of Harvey O. and Lucy Dawson Edwards. He married Nadine Eckhart in 1933 in Galena, Ill., and they were later divorced. He then married Dorothy Wilkinson on March 6, 1948, in Independence.

Mr. Edwards was employed as a machine operator at Deere & Co. for 37 years, retiring in 1974. He then worked for the Red Cross for 16 years.

Survived by his wife; a son, Rick of Cedar Falls; a daughter, Jean Mikkelson of Waterloo; 10 grandchildren; and 27 great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by a brother, Verle; a sister, Fern Stammer; and a granddaughter.

Services: 2 p.m. today at Garden View Chapel, with burial in Garden of Memories.
