Funeral servies tentatively are set for Saturday for Glenn F. Dickson, 84, of the Western Home, Cedar Falls, who died at Schoitz Memorial Hospital Wednesday at 9 p. m. of complications following surgery. He had been a patient at the hospital for the past 15 days:

He was born on June 15, 1877, the son of Richard and Lucy A. Parkins Dickson at Bartlett, Ohio. Mr. Dickson received his education in Ohio and moved to the Reinbeck area in 1895. He had been a resident of the Western Home since April 13, 1957.

On Dec. 16, 1903, he married Helena L. Backens at Reinbeck. He had been a carpenter and was engaged in farming in the Reinbeck area. Mr. Dickson was a member of the Christian church in Cedar Falls. They celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Dec. 13, 1953.

He was employed in defense plants during World War II whee he received in 1945 a certificate of award in appreciation of effective service on the atomic bomb from Secretary of War Henry A. Stimson.

Surviving are his widow, Helena, who resides in the Western Home; three sons: Russell of 711 Cornwall Ave.; Wayne L. of 1225 Glenny; and Dale E., 1149 Forest Ave.; one brother Earl Dickson of Mt. Vernon, Ohio; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, two brothers and one son.

Friends may call at the Kearns-Dyleman Chapel after 10 a.m. Friday.

The deceased son was Ralph Glenn Dickson, Oct. 16, 1918 - Mar 9, 1937.

Waterloo Courier, March 10, 1937 -- Ralph Glenn Dickson, 18, of 1121 Sixth Street West, Waterloo, received fatal injuries in an automobile accident four miles west of Cedar Falls Tuesday night.
