John Michael Roelfs, 54, died Monday about 8 a; m. at his farm home in Mt. Vernon township, of a blood clot. He had been ill for a week, with pleurisy.
He was born March 4, 1883, in Grundy County, Iowa, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Roelfs. He
married Mrs. Alice Jennings 18 years ago and they made their home on a farm in Bennington Township until moving to Mt. Vernon Township 12 years ago. Mr. Roelfs was a member of Mt. Hope Methodist Episcopal Church.Surviving are the widow, two step-children, Wesley Jennings, 148 Woodlawn Road, and Mrs. G. Wilbur Twogood, 2233 Third Street West; two grandchildren; five sisters: Mrs. Harrie, St. Cyr, Minneapolis, Minn.; Mrs. Elizabeth Fisher, Wellsburg, Ia.; Mrs. Bena Beving, Ackley, Ia.; Mrs. Anna Snitjer, Wellsburg, Ia., and Mrs. Rachel Schaefer, Parkersburg, Ia., and three brothers: Rudy Roelfs, Parkersburg, and Dick and Ben Roelfs, Ackley, Iowa
The body was taken to Kearns Garden Chapel.

Funeral services, for John Michael Roelfs, 54, who died at his Mt. Vernon Township farm home Monday, will be at Kearns Garden chapel at 1:30 p. m. Thursday. Burial will be in Janesville.
Cause of death was a blood clot He had been ill for a week of pleurisy.
The body was to be taken to the home in Mt. Vernon Township at 4 p. m. Wednesday and will be
returned to the Kearns chapel at 10 a. m, Thursday.--------------------------
