A. E. YAGGY DIES OF HEART ATTACK; I. C. CONDUCTOR
Had Just Returned Few Hours Earlier From Vacation Trip to West.
Stricken by a fatal heart attack shortly after he had returned from a vacation trip to California, Alvin
E. Yaggy, 42 Lafayette street, 69-year-old Illinois Central passenger conductor, died at 8:15: a. m. Tuesday at ithe home of his niece, Mrs. John Gilbertson, 322 Ankeny Street.Accompanied by his wife, Mr. Yaggy returned,on a 1:15 a. m. train from the west. The couple went to the Gilbertson home to spend the remainder of the night before reopening their own home. Tuesday morning he arose as usual, and was reading a newspaper in the livingroom while waiting, for breakfast when he was stricken. He had been in failing health for a year, but his condition had not been considered serious.
Born Feb. 16, 1868, at Napervjlle, Ill., he came to Waterloo at the age of 2 with his parents. Mr. and
Mrs. Boaz Yaggy. He entered the employ of the Illinois Central Railroad 38 years ago, working in various positions until 16 years ago, when he was made a conductor. He had recently been working on the Fort Dodge-Dubuque run.On Jan. 14, 1896, he married Mrs. Bertha B. Stark, the former Miss Bertha Keiderling, in Waterloo.
In January Mr. and Mrs. Yaggy went to Vallejo, Cal., to visit Herman M. Stark, a son of Mrs. Yaggy by her first marriage.
Surviving besides the widow are two stepchildren, Mrs. Gladys Elliott of Jersey City. N. J., and Herman Stark; and six brothers and sisters: Mrs. Mary Teisinger, Waterloo, Levi Yaggy, Lucerne. Cal.. Rev. S. E. Yaggy, Lind, Wash., Rev. J. H. Yaggy, Toledo, la., Luther Yaggy, Bagley, Minn., and Miss Elizabeth Yaggy, 529 Riehl Street.
The body was taken to Kearns' Garden chapel. Funeral arrangements, awaited information from distant relatives.

Funeral services for A. E. Yaggy, Illinois Central passenger conductor who died Tuesday, will be conducted Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at the Yaggy home, 42 Lafayette Street, and 2 p. m. at First Evangelical Church by Rev. J. S. Deedrick. pastor, assisted by Rev. O. M. Yaggy, Cedar Falls, former pastor of First Evangelical church, Waterloo. Burial will be in Fairview cemetery. The body will be taken from the Kearns Garden chapel to the Yaggy home at 10 a. m. Friday.
