WATERLOO — Bonnie L. Meyer, 71, of Waterloo, died at home Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, of natural causes.

She was born Jan. 23, 1942, in Kiester, Minn., daughter of Erwin and Dorothy Smith Berry. She married Harold “Hal” Meyer on April 2, 1961, in Austin, Minn. He died Aug. 1, 2011.

Mrs. Meyer attended Hawkeye Community College, studying legal secretarial and business. She worked as a judicial court clerk for the Clerk of Court for 22 years, retiring in 2010. She was a member of Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Waterloo, and was past chair of Public, Professional and Maintenance Employees Local 2003 and a member of the Association of Notaries.

Survived by two sons, Todd M. of Waterloo and Scott A. of La Vergne, Tenn.; a daughter, Robin (Grant) Macdonald of Bolingbrook, Ill.; six grandchildren, Apryl (Ricky) Olsson, Dawn Meyer, Alexis Meyer, Avery Meyer, Chloe Macdonald and Violet Macdonald; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Darrel (Jan) Berry of Delhi; and a sister, Kathy (Dale) Roberts of Rockwell.

Preceded in death by: her parents; her stepfather, Cecil Lee Fitzgerald; an infant daughter, Dawn Lynn; a sister, Peggy Scouge; an infant brother, Lowell Berry; and aunt and uncle Gladys and Glen Fure.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday at Grace Evangelical Lutheran Church, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery. Visitation from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Locke Funeral Home, and for an hour before services Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
