HUDSON — Charles H. Gutknecht, 75, died Monday at 6 p.m. at his farm home of apoplexy.

Born March 1, 1862. in Cook County, Illinois, the son of Frederick and Christina Gutknecht, who came to Black Hawk county in 1866. He married Dorothy Vieregge in 1883 and had since lived on a farm place northwest of here.

Surviving are his widow and five children: Louis, Albert W., Fred W., and Herbert, Hudson, and Miss Esther at home; five brothers: J. C., L. C., H. P.. and Theodore H., Hudson, and Otto. Waterloo, and three sisters: Mrs. Frank Schiefelbein and Mrs. Fred Bast, Hudson, and Mrs. Anna Bast, Cedar Falls.

Funeral Thursday at 1 p. m. at the farm home and at 2 p. m. at Zion Lutheran church, west at Hudson; body at Dahl's funeral home, Cedar Falls.
