Dan Germann, 72, of 315 East 10th Street, died at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Presbyterian Hospital of a heart ailment. He had been ill for the past year.
A resident of Waterloo for more than 50 years. Mr. Germann was born July 2, 1876, at Monroe, Wis., the son of Gottlieb and Sarah Germann. He married Blanche Lester, June 24, 1894, at Monroe.
Mr. Germann was employed here as a broom maker by the Waterloo Broom Works.
Surviving are his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Earl Shipp, Waverly, Ia., one sister, Mrs. Bertha Walters, South Beloit, Ill., six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
A son, a daughter, eight brothers and one sister preceded him in death.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Locke Funeral Home.

Services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Locke Funeral Home for Dan Germann, 72, of 315 East 10th Street, who died Monday morning of a heart ailment. The Rev. Robert L. Ryerse, pastor of the Walnut Street Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Deceased children were Lloyd in 1911 and Marjorie in 1915.
