[Waterloo Daily Courier, Sunday, April 22, 1962, Waterloo, Iowa]

Mrs. Blanche Edith Germann, 87, who resided many years at 315 E. 10th St., died at 10:05 p.m. yesterday at Woodlawn Convalescent Home of a stroke suffered six weeks ago.

She was born Blanche Edith Lester, daughter of William and Margaret Friedley Lester, at Rockford, Ill., on July 13, 1874. She was married June 25, 1894, to Daniel G.* Germann. He died in 1949. She was a member of United Brethren Evangelical Church.

Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Violet Shipp, of Waverly; six grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Harry Taber, of Waterloo; Mrs. Ollie Triplett, of Fredericksburg; Mrs. Lester Tewalt, of Cedar Falls; and Mrs. Lucy Vandervoort, of Sacramento, Calif.

She was preceded in death by her husband, one son, one daughter, one brother and parents.

Funeral services are pending at the Locke Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Mrs. Blanche E. Germann, 87, who died Saturday night at Woodlawn Convalescent home, will be at 1:30 p. m. Tuesday at the Locke funeral home with the Rev. R. C. Pfaltzgraff, pastor of Calvary Evangelical United Brethren church, officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood cemetery, Cedar Falls.
