WASHBURN - Shirley J. Plaster, 73 of Washburn, died Monday, July 14, 2008, at Covenant Medical Center, Waterloo.

She was born Dec. 29, 1934, in Fredericksburg, daughter of Edwin and Emma Winkleman Flanscha. She married LaVerne H. Plaster on April 4, 1956, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Sumner.

Mrs. Plaster retired from Covenant Medical Center in 1996, after 27 years of service. She was a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter 333 and was a charter member of Redeemer Lutheran Church, Washburn.

Survived by her husband; four daughters, Debbie (Randy) Foulk of La Porte City, Brenda (Don) Roe of Waterloo, Sandra (Kelly) Emerson of Cedar Falls and Sharon (Randy) Lee also of Waterloo; 11 grandchildren, Andy (Courtney) Foulk, Angie (Tyler) Vincent, Allison (Allen) Clark, Adam Foulk, Kari, Ryan (Amy) and Nick Roe, Tyler and Mitch Herrmann, Kayla and Kenna Nelson; six great-grandchildren, Shay, Bailey and Brody Foulk, Ethan and Corbin Clark, and Max Vincent.

Preceded in death by six sisters: Arlene, Maxine and Betty in infancy, and Elaine Klemp, Wilma Becker and Marlys Laue.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Washburn, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo, followed by a luncheon at Moose Lodge, Washburn. Public visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on West Ridgeway, Waterloo, and for an hour before services Thursday at the church.
