Services for John Pieres, who died Friday in Dubuque, were held yesterday in the Mount Carmel Church of Eagle Center with Rev. Father Takin in charge. He had only lived in Dubuque a short while moving there from Eagle Center where he had lived for many years.

John Pieres was born April 12, 1833 in Preisen, Germany. He came to America with his family in 1884 and settled near Eagle Center.

His wife and one son preceded him in death and he is survived by six sons and two daughters: John J. Pieres, 1312 Fourth Street West; Matt, Carl and Michael of Eagle Center; Nick Pieres, Porter, Minn.; and Mrs. Jacob Myers of Dunkirk, New York.
