Deborah Sue Stevens, 7-year-old daughter of Mn and Mrs. Jerry Stevens, 1004 Lilac Lane, Cedar Falls was killed in a train-automobile collision at 5 p.m. yesterday at Ridgeway Ave. and Highway 63.
The child was, born, Oct. 1, 1963, to Jerry and Donna Kersten Stevens. She was a first grade student at Southdale School Cedar Falls. The family had moved to Cedar Falls recently from Waterloo. The child's father is employed as a salesman at Brown-Wilharm Shoe store in; Waterloo.
Deborah Sue is survived besides her parents by three brothers, Jerry, 9; Tony, 8 and Timmy, 3; the paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Howard Stevens, 2403 Randolph St.; the maternal grandparents; Mr. and Mrs. Glen Kersten, Dysart; the paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Mae Wolfe, Indepehdence.
The eight-year-old brother Tony, 3; was not in the accident yesterday as he had gone to the dentist at Independence with his grandparents.
Funeral services are pending at the Oppold Funeral Home.

Nine-year-old Jerry Lee Stevens, Jr., of 1004 Lilac Lane, Cedar Falls is still in critical condition Monday in Schoitz Memorial Hospital suffering from injuries received in the car-train accident which killed his seven-year-old sister Saturday night.
His mother, Mrs. Jerry Stevens, who was driving the car which was hit by a Chicago Great Western 76-car freight train, is reported in fair condition. Mrs. Stevens was admitted to Schoitz in critical condition Saturday night. Another son, Timothy, 3, is reported in good condition.
The accident which killed 7-year-old Deborah Stevens happened at 5 p.m. Saturday when Mrs. Stevens apparently stopped her car on the railroad track, waiting for traffic from W. Ridgeway Avenue, which was held up by the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 63.

A mass of the angels will be conducted by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. E.. J. O'Hagan, pastor of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, at 10 a.m: Thursday at the church for Deborah Sue Stevens, 7. Burial will be in St. John's Cemetery at Independence. Friends may call at Oppold Funeral Home, where the rosary is to be recited at 8 p.m. Wednesday.
