TAYLOR, WILLIAMS, NOBLE, ACHESON, KECH, MARTIN, BERGLAND

CEDAR FALLS - Robert L. Taylor was born September 29, 1912, in Uniontown, Kansas, the son of Evard Morton and Mabel (Williams) Taylor. He graduated from Shenandoah High School in 1930. On July 5, 1936, he was united in marriage to Margaret Noble in Shenandoah, IA. He was employed with Greenbay Lumber in Shenandoah, then in Des Moines where he was vice president for 29 years, and finally bought Rine Lumber Company in 1961, and operated it as Taylor Lumber until his retirement. He was past school board member in Shenandoah and was active over the years on many boards and commissions at First United Methodist Church in Cedar Falls.

Robert is survived by his wife, Margaret of Cedar Falls, four children, Jim (June) Taylor of Des Moines, Jean Acheson of Des Moines, Jane Kech of Alvin, TX, and John (Nancy) Taylor of Missoula, MT; ten grandchildren, Travis (Brook) Acheson of Des Moines, Shaq Acheson of Des Moines, Brady Acheson of Des Moines, Jenny (Henry) Kech Bryant of Bryan, TX, Jamie Kech of San Diego, CA, Shannon Acheson Rhoades of Littleton, CO, Chad Taylor of Fayetteville, NC, Dustin Taylor of Des Moines, Jackie Taylor of Missoula, MT, and Jessica Taylor of Missoula; and six great grandchildren, Isabelle, Emma, Gretta, and Ethan Acheson, all of Des Moines, Zachary Rhoades of Littleton, CO, and Flora Bryant of Bryan, TX.

Robert died Friday, June 2, 2006, at Sartori Memorial Hospital in Cedar Falls.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Guy, Kenneth, and Evard Taylor; and two sisters, Ellen Martin and Mary Bergland.
