WATERLOO — Donald F. Heinrichs, 82, of Waterloo, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2013, at Rosewood Estate, following a lengthy illness.
He was born June 24, 1931, in Dyersville, son of Frank and Angela Ries Heinrichs. He married Jeannine LaRochelle on Feb. 14, 1953, and they later divorced. He married Mary G. Mangner on Dec. 7, 1984.
Mr. Heinrichs graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1949, then served in the U.S. Navy. He worked at Scherrman Implement in Dyersville and Farley, Larson Swanstrom in Fort Dodge, and Herschel Corp. in Indianola. After retirement he owned and operated Specialty Sales for 10 years.
Survived by his wife; four daughters, Patti (Charlie) Goedken of Dyersville, Diane (Ray) Tekippe of Earlville, Donna (Steve) Ament of Papillion, Neb., and Carrie (Jim) Doman of Lakewood, Colo.; two sons, Dan (Deb) and Doug (Julie), both of Dyersville; 15 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by two brothers, Bob and Vince.
Memorial services: 10:30 a.m. Friday (note correct day) at St. Francis Xavier Basilica Church, Dyersville, with inurnment in the church cemetery. Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, an Overton Family Service, is assisting the family.
