WATERLOO — Deanna R. Lane, 71, of Evansdale, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Cedar Valley Hospice Home of natural causes.

She was born Feb. 16, 1942, in Waterloo, daughter of Samuel and Elsie Fike Appel. She married Robert “Bob” Lane on Jan. 20, 1961, at the First Lutheran Church, Waterloo.

She graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1960. Mrs. Lane was a bus driver for the Waterloo Community Schools.

Survived by her husband; a son, Darrin of Waterloo; a daughter, Deb (Steph) Benschoter of Waterloo; a grandson; and a sister, Jenny (Richard) Foote of Waterloo.

Preceded in death by her parents.

Services 10 a.m. Monday at Parrott & Wood Chapel of Memories, An Overton Family Service, with burial in Garden of Memories. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday and an hour before services Monday, both at the chapel.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
