[Waterloo Evening Courier, Monday, January 7, 1929, Waterloo, Iowa]

Dunkerton. la., Jan. 7.—Influenza caused the death nt 6 a. m. today of Mrs. Samuel Kalenske, age 80. The funeral will be conducted at West Forks Church Wednesday at 2:30 p. m. by Rev. Henry Mueller, pastor of First Lutheran church, Waterloo.

She was born In Germany in 1849 and came to the United States in 1874, in which year she was married. Mr. Kalenske died 15 years ago.

Surviving are four sons and two daughters: Herman, Mrs. Ed Schwartz, Dunkerton; Gustav, east of here; Henry, Fairbank; Louis, Independence; Mrs. Gus Klingfus, Merrill, Wis. There are also six grandchildren and a sister, Mrs. Caroline Moritz, Independence.
