WATERLOO — Richard J. “Dick” Kolpek, 75, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013, at Covenant Medical Center.

He was born July 22, 1938, in Waterloo, son of Emil and Matilda Novotny Kolpek. He married Marjorie Tupy; they were later divorced. He married Joyce Kittrell in 1986.

Mr. Kolpek was a graduate of Dinsdale High School. He worked at John Deere for 30 years, retiring in 1995.

Survived by his wife; a daughter, Tina (Jesse) Kolpek Pint of Phoenix; a son, Todd (Cindy) of Phoenix; a brother, Paul (Joan) of Wisconsin; stepchildren, Cory (Chris) Kittrell of Los Lunas, N.M., Catherine Kittrell and Casey (Sue) Kittrell, both of Waterloo, and Chad (Jennifer) Kittrell of Cedar Rapids; several grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Preceded by his parents; and his stepmother, Bertha Kolpek.

Memorial gathering planned at a later date. Hagarty-Waychoff-Grarup Funeral Service on South Street is in charge of arrangements.
