WATERLOO — Duane Weiler, 88, of Fairhope, Alabama, formerly of Waterloo, Traer and Reinbeck, died Wednesday, July 16, 2013, in Fairhope from complications following surgery.

He was born Oct. 21, 1924, son of John and Estella Weiler. He married Janet Baxter Showers in 1982.

Mr. Weiler retired from farming 1972, then worked in livestock management, a farmland real estate brokerage, and others.

Survived by his wife; a son, Jeffery L. of Chicago; a daughter, Kristana of Kansas City, Mo.; a stepdaughter, Suzanne Showers Willemssen of Fairfax Station, Va.; two stepsons, Robert S. Showers of Bloomington, Minn., and David D. Showers of Waterloo; and five stepchildren.
