WATERLOO — Dorothy June Dickinson, 95, of Waterloo, died Wednesday, July 24, 2013, at Friendship Village Pavilion of natural causes.

She was born July 11, 1918, in Waterloo, daughter of Alton V. and Olive A. Crinklaw Sackett. She married Ernest H. Dickinson on Aug. 28, 1941, in Cedar Falls. He died Dec. 16, 1991.

Mrs. Dickinson graduated from Waterloo East High School in 1936. She and her husband owned and operated Iowa Door Closer and Lock Repair Service from 1965 until their retirement in 1983. She was a member of the Kit and Caboodle Band.

Survived by two daughters, Betty (Ron) Morrison of La Porte City and Vera Brown of Waterloo; four grandchildren, Kevin (Leah) Morrison of Eagle Grove, Sandy (Keith) Bushman of Denver, Colo., Melissa (Chad) Purdy of La Porte City and Steve (Lupe) Brown of Delphi, Ind.; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Marion Ackerman of Dewar.

Preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Alta Schwake; a brother-in-law, Ray Ackerman; and a son-in-law, Frank Brown.

Services: 11 a.m. Tuesday at Garden View Chapel, preceded by an hour of visitation, with burial in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
